Windshields are made of a laminated glass while side windows and rear 
windows are tempered glass-designed to break into small pieces..
Yes, some custom cars have done that.. visibility doesn't appear to be 
distorted. Any impacts while driving down the road could shatter the custom 
tempered glass windshield, allowing whatever into the passsenger compartment 
rather than keeping most things out. Super dangerous..
