<VV> MISSING KEYS - Using the dipstick as a key, but ... ?

I'd opened my Corvairs many times with the dipstick back in the day, but ...

When I tried that the other day, it was so brittle that it snapped off at
the "Full" mark.

The dipstick may not be as flexible as it might have been before it was
boiled in 400 degree oil for 50 years?

If you just want to get in a locked LM Corvair, I have found that you can
work something slender, like a dipstick, around the vent window gasket to
flip up the vent window latch. Once the vent window is open, reach through &
open the door with the handle.
