Kevin thanks for letting me know you had posted your stuff on the Forum. Getting my new computer running I have not transferred all my stuff from the old one and this old mind had forgotten to look there for updated stuff! Nice job!!

I am thinking my 'next' (maybe my last?) Vair will be a LM so it may be a little different.

My hydraulic question is: Has anyone converted to an Hydraulic Clutch using a hydraulic clutch release bearing (throwout bearing)??? I have been looking at that as the "best" way to do this ("best" is in the mind of the beholder!).

The Acrid Smell (probably an electrical overload in some cable) caused by starting the car may indeed be caused by lack of proper grounding! I have found and fixed this for a couple of friends. The Negative cable from the Battery must be bolted tightly to the Engine Block! From this same point a "Ground Cable" (this can be insulated or just open-brad) must be bolted to the Car Frame. The Frame connection needs to be 'electrically clean' and tight. This cable needs to be the same size as the negative Battery cable (bigger is OK, smaller not so good). The "small" (they really are small) braided 'ground jumpers' that go along each side of the engine frame to the car frame cannot carry the current of the Starter Motor.

I have seen some that were using the Clutch Cable as a "ground path" for the Starter which eventually burnt the cable in two. No starting and no clutch!!!

JMHO! Let us know what you find!
