Smitty Says,  I have had occasion to warm an engine with a flood light under the pan.  Never a Corvair.  If you have one with a leaking float valve you can warm it up quick by lighting off the fuel running down over the outside.  The carb and what is in the bowl will get nice and toasty for a start.  Then (if it starts) you can race the engine and suck the flames down the carb and put the fire out.  Hey, when it’s cold out you got to be inventive.
