My only silly input on this one is I put the rods on in the order which  
requires the least turning of the crank to get them all on , before running 
oil.  Yes I lube all with assembly goo , which I feel stays put better with 
engine  laying down , but that's the way I have done it for only 35 - 40 years 
 now...with no problems .
  No input from the engine experts yet?
 MY (for me! this time) next motor assembly will start soon.  parts just 
came in.
