My Dad was the second owner. The car was bought new in Virginia and we live in CA. The good thing was that it did not have a smog pump since in 1966 only Ca cars were required to have smog pumps. I owned the car after my dad and do not remember a non syncro 1st gear. At the time my Dad bought the car, CA did not require a retro-fit of smog equipment.
