Then WD-40 would still top the list, especially since it's in that box of
"stuff you probably already have"?

Actually, the best stuff is "Ru-Glyde" it is used for tire mounting onto
wheels. It is available in a concentrate, but likely more product than you
would use in ten lifetimes. Maybe available - a little bit - at a tire store
near you. Check it out on Amazon.

I use WD40. It seems to "go away" shortly after it does its job.
