I'm not sure this was a Francis Boydston original, but he sold a lot of the long 'Rod coupling nuts'.  The ones he sold were grade 5.  Pretty much every other rod coupling nuts I've were grade 3. No problems over tightening Francis's rod couplers.

I bought my coupling nuts and studs from my local  hardware store.  I think they were a couple  bucks.   I like this way the best.  One swipe with a 5/8 wrench and done. 
I always check the fan belt tension every time I get gas and check the oil.
