But did the pressure gauge change the engine code from "RM" to "??"

This has been much more informative than I had anticipated, a real learning
experience!!!

I know at least two differences between a 65 CORSA VS other model 140s.  The
CORSA had a nipple on the balance tube for the pressure gauge in the dash
and a thermister for the temperature gauge rather than the snap switch for
the idiot light.

Corvairs were drivers for a very long time.  Finding the "wrong" engine
installed is probably more common than finding the "right" one.  Right now
we have four Corvairs, only one has the correct code engine in it, and that
may well change at some point in its life.

Correct.  Different engine code than in a Corsa.  The Corsa engines have
unique codes.
