<VV> car stops running

The pressure goes to zero when the float drops and opens the needle valve.
If the needle valve stays closed, then pressure remains. I've open many a
carb fuel line to a stream of fuel.

Does the pressure go to zero on any of your good running cars, vintage or
modern, upon stopping?
