I use a little piece of masking tape with the sticky side on the socket.
Then it always stays with the socket when you pull it off and holds the
screw better while installing it.

Guys,
What I have always done is take a small square of paper shop towel; place it
over the socket; then push the screw head into the socket. The paper forms
a decent friction fit into the socket to keep the screw located. After
tightening the screw - either the paper stays in the socket (easy to remove)
or on the screw head (either remove it or wait for it to blow away when you
are driving your recently fixed car).
