i know that the 60 car didnt have the black on the bezel   trey bosson  60 v8 coupe wellsville ny

They are easily removable - 4 screws and they don't hold the headlights in place so there would be no reason NOT to remove them for paint.  I'm no expert on EM cars (except I have a '61 Rampside), but I think the one on the RT side is a '64 style.  I don't know if there is any year which did not have black between the ridges, but I'm sure someone will pipe up on that question.

Again a good used one should be easy to find.

Looks like you are right on that.  I suspect that a decent used one would be 
considerably less if you want to go that route.

I note that the RT bezel has the black and the LT does not.  I don't know 
which is correct for a '63, but you might want them to match.  Were they 
removed for the paint work?
