Mine really liked to drool out the filler/gas cap.
I finally gave the filler a vent connection at the highest point, and 
ran a hose to a catch can.
(hose goes into the catch can at its bottom, the can is vented at the top)
Then I modified the cap so it doesn't vent at all. Seals tight and the 
system can only vent thwough the hose.
Problem solved.
