<VV> wiring question: inquiring minds want to know

He did not install the alternator.  It was still the original '64 gen and an aftermarket V.R. .  The stuck points in the V.R. is sort of what I was thinking.  What else could? 
have been responsible for such a bazaar occurrence? 
 As for the alternator, guess who gets elected to install it to get him going again.  ( :
