My old NAPA catalog lists a TRW/Ramco full set "Corvair 164 eng . . . 66-69
. . . T8006M". I presume the extra "S" on your number is because it is for
a single cylinder. It lists 66-69 because the catalog doesn't list anything
prior to 1966.

Subject: Piston ring help

While looking in my parts stash, I stumbled across an individually packaged
cast iron piston ring set (one piston's worth). I THINIK it is for a
Corvair, but I'm not really sure what it is for.
It is marked TRW at the top of the box and "10 up piston rings" at the
bottom of the box.
On the box flaps is says "RAMCO" and "piston rings". Lastly, there is a
part #: On the top row it says TS8006M and on the bottom row it says
4087106.
On the package inside the box it says: COMPLETE RING ASSEMBLY FOR ONE PISTON
and 8006M STD. I know that part means it's standard size, but for what?
So, can anyone help me identify this TRW ring set? Any and all help
really appreciated. Thanx.
