<VV> Plexi Side cover replacement

I am curious if this has been done before or if it is even doable. I am
thinking of replacing the top side cover / heat shields with plexiglass or
kexsn so it will give view of exhaust and still close off for cooling. Or I
can put a plexiglass window in the existing covers I'm used to putting
windows in computer cases and it doesn't seem much different
