The other way around chronologically.   60 to 63 was aluminum.  64 to 69 was 
cast iron.
IIRC, open to other opinions.

Smitty Says;  I wasn't sure how to ask the question because in my stash of 
boxes and shafts I have at least 3 fat shaft (63 and earlier) assemblies 
with iron boxes on them.  My wagon which used to be a 62 has an aluminum box 
and a 64 shaft.  I didn't do it.
