The 60s chevy old light sockets to me aren't the best. The metal insert will pull out when the plastic shrinks pulling the bulb away from the contacts. I've changed out many of them and also push the metal insert back in with a little super glue. There are several kinds to get at the FLAPS stores. If you don't care about original you can get the all metal one which has a good grounding connection. The original looking type appear to be OK to. The directional switch is also a place to look. Make sure the lever is in the center position. I've changed some of them to. one time I found the wire in the tunnel cut in two from the clutch cable movement.. When changing one just be calm as it involves removing the steering wheel. Cost will average about $60.00 for the new one, depending on where you get it from..
