<VV> HOT LOW OIL PRESSURE SOLVED i hope

After taking the top off the other day , and finding things in perfect  
order , Today I removed the cover from the oil pump, and checked the gears. 
They  look ok at a glance and cover shows no wear , but a closer look shows 
very  slight marks on the edge of the drive gear (one with shaft). So I 
replaced the  gears with real good looking used ones , checked cover clearance and 
torqued it  on. It now has just under 20lbs at idle after driving it @10 
miles,  regulates at 55lbs .
So gears can be bad even if the "look OK".
