Most of my gas tank R & R have mostly been on Corvair's that have been sitting a while so I drop the front suspension down which gives you plenty of room to install the new one and make necessary adjustments.  I find it s lot faster and  repair anything that might repair such as the brake lines and a shot of paint.Jerry Brown
