Jim - Thanks but I'm not interested in an electric pump.  That's just a band aid to fix some other issue.  Lots of Corvairs are fine with the stock pump.

Cutting coils reduces preload but increases spring rate.  Does it actually work?  It would be great if so.

Start by just cutting 2 coils off the top of the existing spring....test..... cut more as needed   1/2 coil at a time
