<VV> Changing C878 Power Glide gear shift o-ring. How to get the rod off?

Joel, I don't see a cable, I only see a push rod coming from the front of
the car going to the shift shaft arm so I don't know where the C878 would
go?  Also the transmission filter is missing the bolt that holds it on. I
don't know what size bolt that is and if I can source it locally?
