Chevrolet did offer Kelsey Hayes wire wheels for a few years prior to 1965.  Also, an optional wheel was considered for 1965-ish that was similar in appearance and construction to the 1960's 8-lug Pontiac wheel.  A prototype of the wheel is on exhibit at the Corvair museum, which can be viewed on the CORSA website.
