5/16 coarse  helicoil works good. NO on any ideas about epoxy or such. If the hole is too big , go with the ez thread repair , they have different OD threads for any ID thread. At least the long one usually  is the easy one to fix , the short one is no fun at all , then I had heads given to me with a tap broken in the deep hole. Machine shop made quick work with that one (milled out).Regards, Tim Colson  C N Y C C
