Hi guys!

 

Production date question: When was my '65 built?


I recently acquired a  '65 Monza that shows some promise (VIN 10537 L
101553)

 

The body tag shows a "build date" of "915" and a body # "972" (VIN L 101553)

 

I've heard that the "Build date" code that is normally 2-digit month +
1-Letter (A to E) for the 1st to 5th week of the month.

 

I've also heard that the "Build date" code in LA (only?) was  a 1-digit
month + 2-digit day, making mine built on September 15th, 1964?

 

That jives with my engine code that is T0904RH, which was 11 days earlier,
and DMV shows her "birthday" as September 20th, 1964.

 

Was this the 972nd Corvair built in LA, or the 1553rd in all plants, or
what?
