Grant,
It is my understanding that these organizations are just a collection of bottom feeders who take advantage of people in desperate times.  Here are some suggestions.
1. I would suggest contacting AARP and other trustworthy organizations for advice.  Since these type of organizations target the elderly, AARP may have some experience.  Considering that Florida has a very large number of seniors, they may have a government agency set up to give advice on things like this.
2.  Contact your insurance company.  Many of them allow you to "cash-out" on the accumulated value of your policy.  They will probably give you a much better deal than the advertising companies.  These companies may be legally prohibited from taking advantage of policy holders.
3.  Contact your favorite charities and/or places of worship.  They may have some experience with this sort of thing.  They will likely try to get you to merely donate but in the end they can offer advice if not a cash offer.
4.  Contact several of the advertisers and get them in a bidding war.  The people who respond to your call are probably drones who just enter your data onto the computer and make the offer the computer tells them to.  You may need to to talk with someone with more authority.
Live long and prosper.

I'm considering selling my life insurance policy since it is time to renew and I'm relatively healthy (and in remission from PC and immune from Corvid-19 now). If you have experience selling or trying to sell your policy to one of the many companies adverting on TV a lot, please send me a private reply.
Grant
