<VV> Vacuum Advance

One thing that is commonly overlooked is the black wire between the coil
and points. It is flexed at the point where it enters the distributor
every time the breaker point plate is moved by the vacuum advance -- which
is a LOT of flexing!
Over time, the copper wires work harden and eventually break at the flex
point causing strange, intermittent ignition cutouts.
Cheap and easy to replace; it should be on your routine maintenance list.
