Richard,Put a clear fuel filter in line before the fuel pump (easiest location is above the left rear wheel where a rubber hose connects the body fuel line to the engine fuel line).  Drive the car for a week to see if a fine brown "mud" is collected.  If so your fuel tank is rusting and restricting the "sock" in the tank and the brass carb filters.  Been there.
