no.   IF I read it right , there is definitely a crank to cam  timing issue. Just a tooth off would not show up that bad either. When my crank gear issue showed up the first reply I got was from Warren Leveque? with pictures of crank problems he had with the mid engine racer , including broken cranks and slipped gears ...but he explained how much he abused those parts in actions we would never think of.  So bite the bullet and take the pan off and verify the problem. Could it be a slipped harmonic balancer? In that case the cam could be perfectly timed but the distributor can’t be set correctly because the timing mark is off.
