I'm a Police Squad fanboy, got the entire series on video, along with 
the movies.   You're talking about how they turned a Lincoln into a 
'Vair.  The scene in that episode itself was a spoof of another scene in 
another show about how the police ended up field-stripping a Lincoln 
suspected of being a drug runner by carefully weighing the vehicle and 
noting that it weighed 40 lbs more than the "official" weight claimed by 
Ford Motor Co.   Kinda far fetched, but it's the movies and they ended 
up eventually air-chiseling the rocker sills off the car and found sacks 
of drugs.   "Police Squad" and the "Airplane" movies were filled with 
easter egg tidbits from other film productions.  The first "Airplane" 
movie (also done by the Zucker bros) was actually a spoofed remake of 
the 1957 film "Zero Hour", have that one on digital video as well.
