Hello Corvair Gurus!I am working on my 1964 Spyder turn signals and I could use some advice from folks who know more than I do (should be a large group).
The 1961 Shop manual shows the canceling mechanism parts in Fig 8-122 and I did not see any updates in the 1964 manual. I also did not see anything in the Assembly manual. I am guessing Fisher Body put the pieces in the steering column and Chevrolet just connected the switch bowden cable to the little crank.
Fig 8-122 (attached) shows the Canceling Pawls with the rounded side outboard and the pointy side inboard, and it shows the Detent roller with the flange "Down".
I believe the correct assembly is per my attached photo 20260526_111502.jpg: Canceling Pawls with rounded side inboard, and pointy side outboard, and Detent roller with the flange "Up".
I tried assembling the Pawls as shown in the manual (attached photo 20260526_112856.jpg), but I could not figure out any way to attach the Pawl Spring to them without interfering with pawl movement or (if I put the spring in upside down) with the cable crank.
What say you?
