<VV> Washer Ring - is it used on Flex Plate?

Greetings great Collective of Knowledge,
    Old age is catching up with me....

    There is a ring with 6 holes in it that goes on the pressure plate on a 
clutch, where it bolts into the end of the crankshaft.   Was this ring 
also used on the FLEX PLATE for a Powerglide, or am I just having a 
"senior moment"????

    I *know* about the shorter bolts used on a Flex Plate....so I haven't 
forgotten everything :)
