[1969] Are we (the '69 Vair enthusiast group) still functioning?

All,

I have to agree with not putting our efforts into a Facebook page, not that
I'm against the "new" media, but because our main membership probably isn't
on it for the same reason Ron says. I haven't been on Facebook, though it
looks like my online work with troubled kids is going to mean I'll have to.
Heck, I even hate texting, as I view it as an obsolete technology. To me
it's the ultimate in rudeness. If somebody doesn't have the courtesy to talk
to me voice to voice, well, they're not worth hearing from, far as I'm
concerned. It's nothing but a "modern" version of the telegraph. I mock it
by saying they could get rid of the cumbersome keyboard, and just make it
voice activated..... and call it..... a PHONE! Such a concept! LOL And as
far as twitter, etc. fogedabouddit.

But such lame excuses for not actually socializing with others in person
seems to be the way the young people want to live. I wonder if/when they
will wake up and realize what they've been missing....... social skills and
networking contacts. Just saying, my opinion, mind you....

-Mark

P.S. A side note. What we as a club (CORSA) need to promote is our value in
providing the personal networking connections, something you can't get on
the internet. These kids think they can, but they can't. If it weren't for
the personal contacts I've made through the club, I wouldn't have half the
stuff I have.

Ed and all

I'm not on Facebook either, it's either email or snallmail and that goes for
my friend Will also. Probably because we are old guys with old cars and
most of us are lucky to use email and a cell phone much less than Iphones,
Facebook or tweets and whatever comes next.
