Mike, right, black is a popular color (doesn’t show the dirt as much). I’ve cleaned many of them which were ‘black’ until I started removing the dirt & grime🤣🤣. The last time I had mine off, I cleaned it thoroughly then applied ceramic coating spray to ease future coatings. You can get to much of it w/o removing the shroud- at least what most people can see of it. Just release the fan belt tension so you can easily rotate the fan for cleaning. I hate having to clean a well used painted fan as some of the paint has come off & it’s more effort to strip it all off.
