FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-York, PA Inside entries for the Third Annual York US 30
Musclecar Madness show have been closed effective immediately.  This unprecedented move
was necessitated five months in advance of the show due to overwhelming response from some
of the countries finest muscle cars and nostalgia drag racing vehicles desiring to display at the
show.
 
Included in the list of entries is the World's Most Popular AA fuel altered "The Winged Express"
from Anaheim, California.  The Marcellus and Borsch entry was driven by "Wild Willie" Borsch
and was without question the most popular entry in this wild category.  Mousie Marcellus will
be on hand to sign autographs for both days of the show.
 
The York County Corvette Club has joined with York US 30 Musclecar Madness for the 
presentation of a Fun & Judged Show.  Corvette entries from throughout the East will be 
vying for awards on Saturday of the show in the Cruise-In Plaza.  Over 150 of the countries'
finest Corvettes are expected to converge on the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds for
this additional activity.
 
A feature of the show this year will be Legion of Honor awards.  Added to the list of recipients
has been Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, Bruce Larson, "Pork" Zartman of the Hill & Zartman C/G
Filthy Forty Willys that was the scourge of the Gas Coupe and Sedan category in the sixties.
A posthumus award will be presented on behalf of Dave Strickler who was one of the finest four
speed shifters in his day with his famous "Old Reliable" Chevrolets and to Joe Jacono who was
a standout in both Top Fuel and Funny Car competition throughout the Northeastern United States.
 
The York US 30 event has become an established reunion for the Legends of Drag Racing who 
will be returning with legendary race cars from the '60's and '70's era.  Additional personalities
include Joe Jacono, Tom Sneden, "Akron Arlen" Vanke, Wally Bell, Valeria Harrell, daughter 
of the late Dickie Harrell, and Dale Pulde, along with the previously announced group of Legends.
Others are expected to be added up to show time.
 
York US 30 Musclecar Madness will be presented on July 9-10, 2004 at the York Fairgrounds,
York Expo Center.  A special two day discount ticket is available and children under 12 are
admitted free when accompanied by an adult.  Parking at the show is free.  Show hours are
Friday, July 9th 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday, July 10th 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.  The show
is a benefit for the York County SPCA.
 
Action continues Sunday, July 11th at Beaver Springs Dragway with the presentation of the
York US 30 Nostalgia Super Stock Nationals.  Featuring nostalgia super stock and nostalgia
