Barry,

When we reestablished our chapter a few years ago, we discussed the pros and cons of making CORSA membership a requirement to join our local club. We ended up going with a recommendation that everyone join CORSA but did not make it a requirement.

Some people just aren't "club" people and are barely in the local club. They usually don't participate in events outside of local events. I'm not making excuses for those that choose not to join CORSA. These people still "benifit" from the overall protection of CORSA.

I make it a point to ask if any members at the meeting are not part of CORSA and explain why joining CORSA is important. I remember one meeting where one couple said that they just needed a stamp to mail in their application. Our Secratary produced a stamp for them.

I also make a point of showing something from the Comminque, (in my opininion one of the best reasons to join CORSA). Whether it's an srticle on an event, a tech topic or discussing BOD canidates, I try to draw attention to the magazine. I believe that this is a very good publication and a fine way to motivate people to join CORSA.

I'm happy to say that I do not know of any member of our club that is not a member of CORSA, at least none of the "regulars."
