Hi David, I would encourage you and all in your club who are interested in
autocrossing to visit Scott Trunkhills site www.Corvair.US / 66 autocross car
where you may visit an extensive pictorial story of the WTBRT 112 autocrosser
from begining to end and beyond.
Scott and I did almost all the work ourselves and after 333 runs without
mechanical failure, we still have under $4000 invested and that
includes wheels
and tires. Would your interested members pay $12 per run as that is about what
it has cost us. (not including event fees and SCCA membership). You
can do it and
have tremendous enjoyment by the building and then competing in a grassroots
special. We have !!! Now granted we have just two drivers but then
again the two
drivers did all the grunt work and maintain the car. We began in
November of 2002
and started racing in August of 2003 and just finished competing at
SECC in March of
2006.
