HEY guys, I hope you chapter presidents have been writing your letter of
thanks to the Corvette Museum.-- I wanted to share a story w/ you. As you
know, Jay Leno is a car and a Corvair nut. He recently spent 50k on his
rampside. I wrote him a note requesting the use of his rampside for this
exhibit, expecting to never hear anything back. Last Tuesday I came home
from work and I had a message on my answering machine. "Greg this is Jay
Leno, I have to decline your offer because I drive all my stuff and I made
it a point a long time ago not to lend any cars to museums. It would be just
to to hard for me to keep track of them. Hope you understand and I might
make it to the exhibit". I wrote him back and told him thanks for the quick
response and maybe the first week in October he could drive his assortment
of Vairs to work and alert the media to the reason why. Ralph Nader did
return my call before our 04 convention in Lexington and we talked for 40
minutes, but jay leno what a nice guy---anyway I now need a very nice stock
rampside. The last posting for an early 4 door took 20 minutes to solve w/
Bill Hubbell coming forward. SO this list does work!!!. I might have to
search for something else later also, so keep an eye on your email---In the
upcoming week I hope to have the field completed and concentrate on
memorabilia and loose ends. ---Just wanted to keep you informed and hope to
see everyone in Bowling green for the show-Thanks for your help---- Greg
