 i think in order to answer your survey , one would have to see the proposed schedule for the whole convention, and the rationale for changing the traditional time of this event. i have pasted both below. once one knows all the information, they can then can make an informed decision.

rationale for proposed change this year- (from an email sent by president Mahler)

The concours can be a show by itself.  
Concours participants can be part of the Car display (concourse entrants not eligible for car display trophies though)  later in the week.
The last day of the convention is now a relaxed fun car display.  Clean if you want or not.  Trophies same day.  
Go home early if you want, stay another day if you want.
With no Time Trial this year, the autocross is the only event for the racers.  It is on Thursday.  The car display on Friday. I nice condensed convention for those participants.
The econo-run and rally were put in the same day to make the convention "shorter"
Banquet on Thursady because all the Competitive events -- Cole award -- are complete.  Also same day as Autocross,  a big draw for convention goers.
Better emphasizes that the car display is a non competitive event.
Two car shows instead of just one.
