<CORSA Chapters> FW: Brief Survey

 Any idea what is behind this?  Are  we trying to shrink the number of
days for the convention?  Sounds like the car display would be held off
site and probably the hotel stuff (hospitality room, registration, etc
shut down).  Why would  we want the car display on a separate day from
the concours?  I would ask what sort of calendar were they thinking
about.   Is it that the  thinking  is convention  is still Mon-Fri and
the car display on Saturday or the convention or the convention
shortened a day and the car display on Friday  ?.  If the car display
was on Friday, I expect more convention folks would stay around than if
it was on a Saturday.  On the other hand, maybe a Saturday car display
would get more publicity since you could put it somewhere where more
non-Corvair people would run into it.  I wonder if that is what  the
logic is here ?

this brief survey for us?

Friday, December 11, 2009.  The Car Display Committee thanks you in
advance for your help and participation in this survey.

1. Are you planning on entering your Corvair in the Car Display at the
2010 convention? (if you are not planning on entering a car in the Car
Display, please skip to question #4)[Bill Garrison] No 

2.  If the Car Display were to be held the day after the Awards Banquet
and all the awards (ie: Concours, Rally, Autocross, Economy Run) were
handed out, would you still enter your car in the Car Display? (be
honest here.or would you just forgo it and start heading home?)

3. If the awards (ie: Concours, Rally, Autocross, Economy Run) have been
handed out the night before, how do you feel about receiving your award
on the show field the following day?

4.  If you are attending the 2010 Iowa Convention and all the
competition events with the exception of the Car Display have been
completed and you have attended the Awards Banquet, would you the
following day take the time to go to The Car Display held off site to
look at the cars and vote? (be honest here.or would you just forgo it
and start heading home?)[Bill Garrison] Yes if it was held in the
morning.  That said, if it the car display was held the day after the
banquet and all other events had completed, I think it would "feel" like
it was not a part of the convention - which is not a good idea.  Also, I
think the car display increases the number of cars and people you see on
Concours day, so I think it adds to the feel that the Concours is well
attended.  So, while I would go to a car display the day after the
banquet, I don't think it is a good idea.
