<CORSA Chapters> [Corsabod] CORSA value and possible income

Just so the chapters are clear on this subject; M&PS was not the cheapest
RFP or where they the most expensive One of the cheaper companies had this
to say about our organization; They only wanted to sign a one year contract.
After that year they would re-evaluate the situation and decide if WE fit
Their mold. I have to also mention that they represented FOOD groups. How
would CORSA fit their mold? Where would we have been in a year if they
decided to pull out? Screwed. Plain and simple. One other cheaper company
wanted to give us a base price and then have add on fees. In the end they
would have cost us almost the same if not more than M&PS. The most expensive
company, while highly qualified and professional, were still 10-15 THOUSAND
more a year. An obvious choice on the no go. CORSA does not have that kind
of funds.

While M&PS have not seen eye to eye with some members of CORSA and former
BOD members, at this particular time the MAJORITY of the board decided to
stay the course for now.

I'm for both, we need a win-win situation for CORSA and our management
company whoever they maybe. I know M&P isn't the only viable option. It
looks like their proposal was the best again this year as the BoD which you
were a member selected them again.

I have all those emails also.

I'm not sure if (M&P) is really a conversation we should get into - but I
would if prompted to and we could get more involved and understand different
concepts for the membership.

We can even go into the past and recent RFP - realizing you may not have
participated in either or maybe the first (I have no idea).

But just your comment itself makes me wonder about many things the board has
or has not done.

As a board member, where did your loyalty lie? With CORSA or M&P.

I can understand both sides of the coins - being you may think that M&P is
the only options / choice CORSA has? After 20+ years - I believe as a
member there is room for a large improvement and knowingly that there are
many capable assests available to take over CORSA with astonishing ease.
(do you want the names of companies that are not only capable, but
accredited, credentialed, and actually have non profit software and
convention suites and specialized in non profits.) Please challenge me on
the debate!!

Also understanding and able to defend the comments oh - they do so much more
for CORSA pro-bono - Would you like to see emails concerning such statements
or an .MPG at a recent meeting when they were asked just those questions
(permission was granted for the taping and it was given to me with no
disclaimers). There will be those that say I hate M&P - which again is
completely and utterly false - Lets open this bag of worms and just see
where it goes - I still have emails from when you and I were on the board.
Lets have the good ole boy debate about M&P.

How much further do you wish to go on this thread - personally - I am way
over qualified to discuss this and your views intimately and let the cards
lie where they may.

I was one of the BoD members who didn't think we should be paying M&P with a
credit card. It would have effectively cut their pay by 2% and CORSA
couldn't afford to give them a 2% raise to make them whole.

Hi Dave,

I also thought this is/was a great idea as so many other organizations do
this - the corp would also get a kickback (with some credit card companies)
based on their membership numbers / spending. The idea got poo pooed - you
can ask Tim the reasons - if needed - I imagine I can locate the emails for
reference.

PS: I still think it would be great - Sorry - I do not have the time to
research the credit card companies for the best deals at this time.

I also went one step further and recommended CORSA use a credit card to
purchase everything from the mgt team to other expenses and capitalize on
the points system, the mgt team complained or rather said they were not set
up for credit card transactions and that they would pass that cost back to
corsa - still can you imagine the points and the options available for
promos to the membership and convention.

Some board members were not in agreement with the suggestion or did not have
the experience with the points system. I use them daily - hotels, gifts,
transportation etc, with CORSA annual expenses - I would say they could
generate income from the points system alone in a properly managed account
with foresight.

Have you heard any responses from your comment to date from the board - if
so - please share them. thanks
