Gary,

Before you dismiss the idea entirely, let me offer my thoughts about your
situation.

Different membership time frames, dues scales, or membership classes could
be accommodated, using modern technology (see my prior post for one
example).

Also, it would not be necessary for a Chapter to have 100% CORSA membership
to participate; however, CORSA would only provide the service to the members
who ARE also CORSA members.  What this would mean is that each chapter would
continue to have their own method (secretary/treasurer, whatever) of
accounting and keeping track of members, but that their CORSA members would
have the option of "one-stop shopping" method of renewing both CORSA and
Chapter dues.  In this day and age, such convenience *might* help both
chapter and CORSA recruit and/or retain membership, but it would certainly
NOT require dual membership, as the MEMBER would be the one making the
decision about which club(s) to join or how to pay the dues.

Having said all that, it would, of course, be each Chapter's decision
whether to partner with CORSA or not in providing joint dues collection.

Certainly, however, for those chapters that DO require CORSA membership (and
there are many), joint collection of dues makes a LOT of sense.

Again, I ask all of you to please keep an open mind - put your thinking caps
on and ask yourselves if you can find a way to make this idea work for your
members.

The Niagara Frontier Corvair Club would NOT be interested in having CORSA 
collect our dues.
We have our own time frame, and dues scale based on how newsletter is 
received.
We also have several members who are not CORSA members.

Please spare us the mandatory membership replies.
