Someone please explain how this is "bureaucratic meddling?"
 
First of all, it is VOLUNTARY. No one would be forcing chapters to  
participate. No one is forcing members to join CORSA or even a local  chapter.
 
We are suggesting that CORSA could provide a convenience to the local  
chapters and members to have a "one stop shopping" service for paying  dues.
 
Big Brother  (CORSA) is NOT watching, at least not more than it  already is. 
CORSA already has a database of chapter members, whether they are  CORSA 
members or not, that is provided and updated on a annual basis. You guys  are 
completing your chapter reports, right? This service could make that easier  as the 
members that pay CORSA could be automatically entered in the chapter  
member's list. Less work for the chapter rep.
 
No one has said anything about controlling chapter dues amounts or when  they 
are paid. CORSA is not out to infringe on the chapter's  independence. CORSA 
relies on the local chapters. CORSA requires very  little, an annual report 
(which has never been strictly enforced). This  proposal does nothing to change 
that arrangement. It is just a convenience,  plain and simple.
 
If you think this is going to lead to some sort of CORSA take over or  
oppression of local chapters, you need to get the clouds out of your crystal  ball. 
I seriously doubt this BoD, or any BoD, would allow that sort of  thing.
