Hello Fellow CORSA Members:
It is indeed that time again for a call to the membership for interested candidates seeking the Board of Directors Position(s).  Please disseminate this email widely and freely.  Post in your local club newsletters, converse about the pertinent opportunities on the internet forums and lets find some candidates.

The Corvair Society of America (CORSA) is proud to announce its annual call
for Board of Directors Nominees. 



The society seeks nominees to fill 4 Director seats.  Two (2) Director seats are available from the
Central Division, one (1) Director seat is available from the Eastern Division
and one (1) Director seats is available from the Western Division.  The board is comprised of twelve (12) elected
members with each term serving three (3) years. 

To nominate yourself and/or your colleague(s) for the position(s)
on the CORSA Board of Directors, send a photograph, a written statement of
personal qualifications and biographical data, covering: a willingness and
ability to work, administrative and decision-making experience and capabilities,
anticipated contributions to CORSA, CPF and their respective Boards, personal
accomplishments and experience as deemed relevant by the candidate indicating
his or her interest in serving CORSA/CPF to the CORSA Vice Presidents email

The deadline for nominations is 5 pm
EST on Monday, February 1, 2010. The Nominations Committee Chair will coordinate the nominations received and present them
to the membership for a vote.





The Board of Directors job description bullets are below:

 

1.      Establish contact and develop close
rapport with chapters and members in represented Division. In a shared program
with other Directors in the Division, provide regular communication to chapters
in that Division reporting on activities of the Board, and other matters of
concern.

2.      Will endeavor to provide a column for the
CORSA Communique approximately once a
year. The subject should be a topic such as organizational business, club
policies, or Board business which may have an interest to the majority of the
membership.

3.      Assist in the sales of the club’s
merchandise.

4.      Attend the annual convention and, if
possible, events of interest in the represented Division.

5.      Develop action plans for consideration of
the Board. Poll members for opinions and formulate and submit motions as
appropriate. Vote on all motions.

6.      Read and understand current CORSA
Policies, Procedures, and Job Descriptions. Develop new ones or upgrade current
ones as necessary.

7.      Distribute information of general
interest.

8.      Participate in committee activities
through voluntary service. Assist the nominating committee and the President in
the identification and development of candidates suitable for appointive or
elective office. Study requirements and prepare for possible service on the
Executive Committee.

9   Respond promptly in all correspondence
with members or chapters. Route this communication to the officials who are
responsible for the subject of the correspondence. That may be the CORSA
Officers, the CORSA Executive Office, or a committee chair. Copies of all
correspondence should be sent to the other Directors in the member’s or
Chapter’s Division. Note: All correspondence addressed to the Board of
Directors should be routed to the CORSA Secretary.
10.      Actively implement all policies of the
Society.11.      Determine what actions are needed to
improve CORSA operations and initiate appropriate discussion leading to implementation
of corrective actions.
