<CORSA Chapters> Banquet alternative

At our 50th celebration last year, we had our cake and ate it too....

We had cake after the "unveiling" in the oversized lobby where the car was
also unveiled. For the banquet, we rented a nearby hotel and hired our own
caterer. Of course it helps that we have a member that has a great catering
business (all of his delivery vehicles are FCs). We did have to pad his
bill and force him to cash the check.

Our Tunas, held three time per year, are "catered" by our members. We have
never had a shortage of food and have always eaten well, maybe too well.

Most people think CORSA and its chapters are about Corvairs, but some of us
know the truth. It's really about the food.

Good point - except in this case the hotel and the caterer are two
different companies. We pay the hotel for the room, then make a separate deal
with the caterer. The catch is the hotel has an agreement that only the
caterer can supply food in the banquet rooms, so you can't just buy your own.
