Today we mourn the loss of Ann Marie Schaefer, wife of former CMI President, Don Schaefer.

  Ann Marie was born in Mountain Lake, MN on August 22, 1953 and raised in southern Minnesota, graduating from Blue Earth High School in 1971. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Mankato State University in 1976 and taught science and math courses in Heron Lake, MN until 1978.She married Don Schaefer on October 23, 1976 and in 1978 they moved to Seattle, WA where Ann Marie found employment at Safeco Ins. Co using her analytical skills and computer skills to begin a career as a business systems analyst. She interrupted her career to have children in 1984 when son, Frederick (Max) was born. Daughter Shayla followed in 1985 and shortly after relocating to Willmar, MN, in 1987 daughter Shawna was born. Ann Marie returned to her programming career working for computer programming services in Willmar, Duininck Bros Company in Prinsburg, MN, Assa Abloy Door Co in Mason City, IA, Golden Plump Chicken in St. Cloud, MN, and finally HOM Furniture in Coon Rapids, MN.Along the way she was active in the Willmar Arts Council and served on the board of Willmar Concert Series.Ann Marie and Don moved to Roseville from Willmar in 2017 to be closer to family.Ann Marie passed away at her home in Roseville, MN on Sunday, December 30, 2018.She is survived by husband, Don, son (Max) Frederick and wife Kelly (Hanson) and daughters Shayla (Graham) Steeds and Shawna (Andrew) Carey, grandchildren Malachi and Mavis Carey.She is also survived by siblings Greg (Natalie) Green, Sherry (Bruce) Ristau, David (Mary) Green, Thomas (Lisa) Green and Joel (Janell) Green. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her father and mother Donald and Rose Ann Green.Funeral service will be held at 2PM at the Roseville Memorial Chapel, 2245 Hamline Ave N, Roseville. Visitation will start at Noon. Interment will follow on a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth, MN
