Tim,

Regarding the name tags, that is an excellent suggestion.  I'm just back from San Francisco where my company held a technology conference for our clients and vendors.  We had close to 280 participants from all over the world and that is what we did also.  One of my responsibilities was to prepare the name tags.  When people registered for our conference,  there was a form they had to fill out and one of the questions we asked was how they would like their name and company name to appear on their name tag and that's what I would type in on their name tag.  If they were bringing their husband, wife or significant other, only their name would appear on their name tag.  I then inserted the tag into a plastic badge holder which was affixed to a green colored lanyard which we hung around our necks.  The name tag had my company's logo and tag line on it and then we added the participant's name and company.

Just out of curiosity, will the convention name tags include the person's club affiliation as well?  For example:

Catherine McCafferty
Bay State Corvair Club

or just the participant's name?  I think it would be helpful to also include the participant's club affiliation, at least their main club affiliation if they belong to more than one club.

     I think Ken's idea of sending out the promo DVD to local (I'll add: 
and maybe all) chapters is a great idea.

     I also want to mention a brilliant idea cribbed from the name tags 
that were used at my high school reunion this past weekend.  They were 
printed (identically) ON BOTH SIDES!  That means if you were wearing one 
around your neck, you name was always visible and you didn't have to pay 
any attention to it!
