Cathy,
The most important thing to me is that the persons name is readable.
If there is a consensus that we need more info on the tag (I've got no
strong feelings one way or the other) that's fine by me. If we have a
fancy printer available and want to put each club's logo in the
background of their tag (if we can get them to submit a digital file of
the logo) that could be a really cool looking.
A quick story about keeping it simple: I recently had a 130th birthday
part, I was turning 50, and my friend Matt was turning 80, and we did a
combined party. He suggested name tags, which I though was a good idea.
My though for name tags was a pile of "Hello my name is" stickers and
some sharpie markers. His idea was color coded tags, computer printed
so you could tell if the person was a friend of mine, a friend of his,
or a mutual friend. I had no objection, as he designed printed out the
tags. It was MUCH more effort than I would have put into it.
Have a great weekend, and happy Father's day to all who it applies to,
Tim Schwartz

We had close to 280 participants from all over the world and that is what we did also. One of my responsibilities was to prepare the name tags. When people registered for our conference, there was a form they had to fill out and one of the questions we asked was how they would like their name and company name to appear on their name tag and that's what I would type in on their name tag. If they were bringing their husband, wife or significant other, only their name would appear on their name tag. I then inserted the tag into a plastic badge holder which was affixed to a green colored lanyard which we hung around our necks. The name tag had my company's logo and tag line on it and then we added the participant's name and company.
