Paper tags with pin on plastic holders is the way almost all the
conventions have doen it.  The idea of adding a code of  some kind to
indicate events that have been selected is a great idea.  I'm not sure
how we would work it out but we sure ought to try.

If possible, I would like to have name tags with name and club
affiliation and State.
Also, to have printed all the events, either by name or by ref. numbers
on the border of the tag, so the event the particular is attending ansd
are paid could be punched out.
I am waiting to hear from Tim Schwartz about prices for eithe plastic or
paper tags.
It is too early but I thing a paper tag, that we could print ourself and
a plastic cover with a pin would be the easyer and the less expansive.
