Gang:

If I may add my 2 cents worth...?

The implication that the planning being done for the first New England convention is intended just to "make the convention different" is opinion...not fact. I've attended each planning meeting so far and the focus is clearly to make this a great convention that is suited to the logistics of the area. We have great ideas mentioned in these meeting and Brian has kept those suggestions within the Rules.

The Sturbridge area in the summer draws a vast amount of people...families, young people. This is a fantastic opportunity to present the Corvair to the public in a "New England" type way. The convention site itself is multifaceted that lend's itself to the Fun Day idea.

The fact that the area does draw the public impacts on the logistics of the economy run. Now, if a few miles out of town you have beautiful countryside which most folks only see on calendars, why have them wait in line competing with the public to measure how much gas has been used? It is better to get them out in a rally that can build memories for them.

The focus on this convention has been to make it a great one...suited to the historic area in which it will be held.
